Meet Jermaine Chambers and Family; A Lifetime of Service, A vision for Brampton's Future
My name is Jermaine Chambers, and I am proud to be your neighbor.
My family's connection to Brampton spans many years. My late father proudly called Brampton home, and today my brother and his family continue to live here in Ward 6. Like so many families, our roots are firmly planted in this community, and we care deeply about its future.
In 2013, my wife and I purchased our first home right here in Ward 6 at Wanless Drive and Creditview Road. At that time, everything north of Wanless Drive was still farmland. Over the years, we have watched our neighborhood transform into one of Brampton's fastest-growing communities, with new homes, schools, parks, and businesses. We've grown alongside our community, and I want to help ensure Brampton continues to grow responsibly—with the roads, parks, recreation facilities, and city services families need to thrive.
My beautiful wife, Janiel, is a dedicated registered nurse who has devoted her career to caring for others. Through the challenges of the pandemic and beyond, she has continued serving patients with compassion and professionalism. Her commitment to helping people inspires me every day and reminds me that public service is ultimately about improving the lives of others.
Together, we are raising our 12-year-old son, Josiah, who enjoys school, loves playing soccer, and proudly collects Pokémon cards. Like every parent, we want him to grow up in a city that is safe, affordable, welcoming, and full of opportunity. His future—and the future of every child in Brampton—is one of the reasons I chose to serve.
Faith is an important part of our family's life. We regularly attend church on Saturdays, where we are reminded of the importance of integrity, humility, compassion, and serving our neighbours. These values guide me every day as a husband, father, volunteer, and community leader. While my faith shapes who I am, my commitment is to serve every resident of Wards 2 and 6 with fairness, respect, and dedication.
Community service has always been at the heart of my life.
For more than three and a half years, I had the privilege of serving as a volunteer Grant Review Team Member with the Ontario Trillium Foundation for the Peel and Halton region. Working alongside other community leaders, I reviewed and recommended funding for organizations creating healthier, stronger communities through youth programs, recreation, health initiatives, arts, culture, and community development. This experience gave me a unique understanding of how governments and community organizations can work together to improve people's lives, and how local leadership can empower organizations that make a real difference.
I also proudly served as a member of the Heart Lake Rotary Club here in Ward 2. Rotary's motto, Service Above Self, reflects values I have tried to live by. Alongside fellow Rotarians, I supported many local initiatives, including regularly collecting and delivering food to the Heart Lake Food Bank and assisting organizations that serve vulnerable members of our community. Those experiences reinforced my belief that strong communities are built when neighbors help neighbors.
For many years, I have also volunteered as a youth soccer coach here in Brampton. Coaching has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Watching young people develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership has strengthened my belief that investing in youth is one of the best investments any community can make. Today, seeing Brampton players representing Canada on the world stage fills me with tremendous pride and reminds me of the incredible talent that exists right here in our city.
Professionally, I am a mortgage agent. Every day I work with families who are buying their first home, renewing their mortgage, or navigating difficult financial decisions. Previously I served as a Financial Advisor with Scotiabank, CIBC and TD. Those conversations have given me firsthand insight into the affordability challenges facing Brampton families and strengthened my determination to ensure that every decision at City Hall respects the family budget.
Public service has also led me to seek the trust of residents through elected office. I was honoured to run for City Councillor in Wards 2 and 6 in both the 2018 and 2022 municipal elections. In 2021, I also had the privilege of serving as the Conservative Party candidate for Member of Parliament in Brampton West. While those campaigns were important milestones, they do not define my commitment to our community. Whether elected or not, I have continued to volunteer, listen, and serve because I believe public service is about showing up consistently and earning the trust of residents over time.
One of the things I love most about Brampton is our diversity. I have been privileged to attend and support cultural celebrations, festivals, and community events across many different communities. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and I believe every resident—regardless of their background, culture, or faith—deserves to feel respected, included, and represented at City Hall.
Today, I am asking for your support because I believe Brampton deserves leadership that is accessible, accountable, and focused on results.
My vision is built on four simple commitments:

2. Safer Streets and Stronger Neighborhoods
3. A City Hall That Listens
4. Invest in Families, Parks and Recreation
This campaign is deeply personal to me. My wife and I love it here and intends to raise our here. Our family has built our lives here. Like so many families, we care about the future of our neighborhoods and the future of our city.
